Synopsis

A Neil Jordan movie bringing out the twists brought about by war. Starts as a simple war movie where Jody, Whitaker, a British soldier is taken captive by an IRA soldier Fergus, Stephen Rea. In a surprising twist the two form a friendly bond and Fergus pledges to protect Jody’s girlfriend as retribution.

Fergus meets another twist when he falls for her only to discover she is a transsexual, beside himself he still is attracted to her and ends up going to prison for her. The twists, romance and sexual energy sets this movie apart.
